PROGRAM OUTLINE

IN-PERSON & REMOTE FACILITATED

In-person and remote-facilitated courses are offered in the corresponding regional time zone unless otherwise noted.

 

Introduction and Virtual kickoff meeting;

 

Module 1
Prior to Module 1, the participant works at their own pace and at a convenient time, approximately 2-3 hours, on the online component where participants will review the 5 Principles of Lean, 8 wastes and 5S.

  • Day 1 – 8 hours (8:00-4:00) – Lean review and philosophy, team building
  • Day 2 – 8 hours (8:00 to 4:00) – DiSC
  • Days 3, 4 and 5 – 8 hours (8:00 to 4:00) – Hands on 5S Kaizen

Module 2
Prior to Module 2, the participant works at their own pace, approximately 2-3 hours, on the online component where participants will learn about material flow cycle time reduction, takt time and line balance. Cycle time reduction kaizen hosts will need to work with facilitator to provide background information/process videos for the CTR kaizen (2-4 hours)

  • Day 1 – 8 hours (8:00-4:00) – Problem Solving and Simulation
  • Days 2, 3 and 4 – 8 hours (8:00 to 4:00) – Hands-on Cycle Time Reduction Kaizen
  • Days 5 – 7 hours (8:00 to 3:00) – Presentation practice and build-your-own simulation

Module 3
Prior to Module 3, the participant works at their own pace, approximately 2-3 hours, on the online component where participants will learn about office process cycle time reduction. Office cycle time reduction Kaizen hosts will need to work with facilitator to provide background information/process videos for the office kaizen (2-4 hours)

  • Days 1, 2 and 3 – 8 hours (8:00-4:00) – Office kaizen
  • Day 4 – 8 hours (8:00 to 4:00) – Participant Final Presentations
  • Day 5 – 5 hours (8:00 to 1:00) – Final exam and graduation


PRE-REQUISITE(S)

  • Yellowbelt or equivalent knowledge and understanding of Lean tools (prior learning assessment may be required)
  • Knowledge and experience leading others through influence

Who Should Attend:

Anyone currently engaged in Lean and continuous improvement efforts and any employee who will participate in these efforts going forward.

Designated change agents within an organization.


Certificates will be given at the end of the session.
